The Brazos County community is mourning the tragic loss of 26-year-old Hannah Rapp, whose life was cut short following a devastating collision on FM 159 on the morning of Saturday, July 18, 2026. Family, friends, and loved ones are grieving the loss of a young woman whose passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew her.
According to the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly before 10:00 a.m. to the 23000 block of FM 159 following reports of a major crash involving a motor vehicle and a bicyclist. Emergency responders arrived quickly and found Hannah suffering from critical injuries. She was provided immediate medical treatment at the scene before being transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries despite extensive lifesaving efforts.
Investigators reported that the driver, identified as 31-year-old Charles Medina, had passed two bicyclists traveling along FM 159. Authorities allege that after passing them, the driver stopped, reversed his vehicle, and struck one of the cyclists. Investigators currently believe the incident was isolated, and the circumstances remain under active investigation as detectives continue gathering evidence and reviewing all available information.
Charles Medina was arrested following the incident and charged with manslaughter. He was transported to the Brazos County Detention Center without further incident.
